Outside Sales / Application Engineer / Territory Manager Engineer

 

An Outside Sales Engineer / Sales Engineer / Territory Manager is required to join a leading distributor of engineered pump systems and fluid handling equipment.

 

The Outside Sales Engineer / Sales Engineer / Territory Manager role is open to candidates from any technical background, mechanical, electrical, or industrial, who have a proven track record in pump sales. This is a great opportunity for an experienced salesperson within the pump industry to take ownership of a high-potential territory and join a well-established, growth-driven team.

 

This role will cover Southern Michigan (Grand Rapids and below), working across industrial and municipal markets, with a customer base that includes OEMs and end users.

  • OTE (Year One): $150,000 circa

Outside Sales / Sales Engineer / Territory Manager Role

  • Manage and grow an established territory with an 80% existing customer base and 20% new business development.
  • Develop relationships with OEMs, end users, and integrators across Michigan.
  • Identify new opportunities and applications within industrial and municipal sectors.
  • Provide technical support and recommend the best pump and system solutions for customers.
  • Work closely with the inside sales and service teams to ensure customer satisfaction and efficient project delivery.
  • Take ownership of the territory, maintaining strong communication with internal departments and customers alike.
  • Support with quotations, application matching, and troubleshooting when required.

 

Outside Sales / Sales Engineer / Territory Manager Requirements

  • Proven background as a Sales Engineer / Pump Sales / Application Engineer / Territory Manager / Technical Sales Representative or similar.
  • Experience with pumps or rotating equipment is essential.
  • Exposure to industrial or municipal markets is beneficial.
  • Comfortable managing relationships and driving business across a defined territory.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Based in Southern Michigan, with travel throughout the region.
